Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

We keep this short and plain. If anything is unclear, contact us.

1. Who we are

ZacBook provides ZacBook, online business software. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us or use ZacBook. We follow the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of Tanzania.

2. Two kinds of information

Information about you and your users. We decide how this is used, as described in this policy.

Your business records, such as your customers, suppliers, staff, invoices and payroll. You control this data; we store and process it only on your instructions to provide ZacBook. You are responsible for having the right to keep it and for answering requests from the people it is about.

3. What we collect

  • Contact form and enquiries: your name, business name, email, phone number and message.
  • Account details: company name, address, TIN/VRN, and each user's name, email, phone number and role.
  • Sign-in and security: encrypted passwords (we can't read them), sign-in times, and records of important changes made in the account.
  • Billing: your plan, payment dates and amounts, and payment references you send us. We don't collect card numbers or mobile-money PINs.
  • Technical information: basic information your browser sends, such as IP address and browser type, used for security and troubleshooting.

4. How we use it

  • to provide, secure and support ZacBook;
  • to reply to enquiries and set up accounts;
  • to send service emails, such as sign-in codes, password resets, invoices you send to your customers and billing notices;
  • to keep financial records and meet our legal obligations;
  • to improve ZacBook, using information that does not identify individuals where possible.

5. Who we share it with

We don't sell personal information. We share it only with:

  • service providers that help us run ZacBook, such as cloud hosting and email delivery, under agreements that require them to protect it;
  • systems you choose to connect to your account through our integrations;
  • authorities, when the law requires it.

Our hosting providers may store data outside Tanzania. When they do, we take steps required by law so it stays protected.

6. How we protect it

Connections to ZacBook are encrypted. Each business's data is kept separate from every other business, every user has their own login and permissions, and access by our own staff is limited to what is needed to run and support the service.

7. How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. After it is closed, we delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except records we must keep by law, such as billing records. Enquiries that don't lead to an account are deleted when no longer needed.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to how we use it. Users can update most of their details in ZacBook themselves.

To make a request, email support@zacbook.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Tanzania.

9. Cookies

We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We don't use advertising cookies.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy and will show the date of the latest version at the top. If changes are significant, we will tell account holders. Questions: support@zacbook.com. See also our Terms of Service.
